Musketeer Engineering was established in 1969 at Lambeg Mills. Over the years, the company has moved premises on a number of occasions and, in 1987, moved into shared accommodation at Blaris Industrial Estate, Lisburn with sister company, Flexequip, though the two businesses continue to operate as separate entities. Since then, Musketeer has also had a spell based in Belfast, but is once again back sharing premises with Flexequip and continuing to grow from strength to strength.
In 1987 the company was still focused on its original core interests - i.e. trading in general hydraulic components - but they decided to develop the knowledge and experience they had accumulated over the years and Musketeer evolved into a full-blown fluid power engineering company, covering hydraulics, pneumatics and associated electronic controls That has been the cornerstone on which Musketeer Engineering has built its reputation ever since - a fluid power specialist, offering system design expertise and consultancy through to installation, commissioning and maintenance services.
